FCOT Pricing & Commitment to Families
At Full Circle Occupational Therapy (FCOT), we believe in being open and honest about everything we do, including the cost of care.
Providing high-quality, thoughtful therapy takes much more than the time we spend in session. It includes consulting with other professionals, ongoing communication with families, continuing training and research, assessments, and above-ordinary documentation. Every child’s journey is unique, and we do everything possible to support them with care and dignity.
We also know that cost can be a barrier. That’s why we’ve worked hard to keep our fees as low as possible while still covering the rising costs of staffing, supplies, transportation, and clinic operations. We took this summer to brainstorm, develop and fine-tune a pricing strategy that we think will serve our community better than a typical one-size-fits-all type model.
It’s not always easy, but transparency matters to us, so here’s exactly how our pricing works.
Supported Provincial Rate (SPR):
This is our standard rate, and one that will be used for children receiving support or funding from Jordan's Principle, Child and Family Services or Social Development. Often, this means helping us get in touch with the point of contact or case worker for this service.
$200/60 mins 1:1 session
Why We Charge What We Do
Behind each session is a team of dedicated professionals putting in time and heart you may not always see:
-
Consulting with teachers, doctors, and other supports
-
Communicating with families between sessions
-
Assessing progress and adjusting plans with care
-
Documenting at a level far above the ordinary
We also dedicate a portion of our time to pro bono and social justice work, because accessibility and equity are core to who we are. This work is deeply meaningful, but it also comes at a cost we absorb as a community-minded clinic.
We are grateful to partner with schools, agencies, and community organizations that share our commitment to supporting children and families. These relationships are at the heart of FCOT, and we deeply value the trust they place in us.
That said, working with larger organizations also means navigating their unique funding structures, procedures, and timelines. Payments sometimes arrive later than expected, not because of any fault or lack of care, but simply due to the processes these organizations must follow.
As a small, community-focused business, these delays can create uncertainty and strain on our side. We continue these partnerships because they allow us to reach children who might otherwise go without support. At the same time, it’s important to share openly that sustaining our work under these conditions can be challenging.
Your understanding of this balance, our love for the work, paired with the realities of keeping it all running, means so much to us.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are fees increasing?
Like many organizations, we’ve felt the impact of rising costs across the board. We held off as long as we could, but to continue offering the thoughtful, family-centred care you trust us for, a small increase was necessary.
What if I can’t afford the new rate?
Please reach out. We never want cost to be the reason a child can’t access support.
You may qualify for our Accessibility Rate.
What’s included in the cost of a session?
More than just the hour spent together. Your fee also covers preparation, documentation, communication, and collaboration with other professionals. This ensures every child’s care is consistent, coordinated, and of the highest quality.
How can I help support FCOT?
We are so grateful for our community. Here are some ways to help:
-
Donate seasonal gear (boots, coats, mittens, etc.) for families in need
-
Help keep our take-a-book after OT shelf full
-
Spread the word about our services and mission
-
Contribute to the Full Circle Support Fund when possible (more information to come)
Our pricing reflects the real costs of care, balanced with our commitment to equity, community, and access.
Thank you for trusting us with your child’s journey. We’re honoured to walk alongside your family.
