Providing strength-based and neuroaffirming care through nature-based play.
What is OT?
Helping children grow, connect, and thrive in their everyday lives
What Does an Occupational Therapist Do?
An Occupational Therapist (OT) helps people of all ages participate more fully in the activities that make up daily life (their “occupations”). For children, that means everything from playing, learning, and self-care to managing emotions, focusing in class, and building friendships.

At Full Circle Occupational Therapy (or FCOT as we are lovingly called), our team supports children and families in understanding how their bodies, brains, and environments work together, and we help them build the skills and strategies to feel confident, capable, and calm in their everyday routines.

What Is Pediatric OT?
Pediatric OT focuses on helping children develop the underlying foundations for growth, learning, and well-being. We use play-based, child-led therapy to make skill-building fun, meaningful, and achievable.
While every child’s journey is different, OT may focus on areas such as (just to name a few):

Encouraging independence in everyday routines, from brushing teeth to tying shoes.

Helping children understand, tolerate, and respond to sensory input like sounds, textures, and movement.

Supporting coordination, strength, and fine motor control for tasks like writing, dressing, or playing.

Developing tools for managing emotions, energy, and focus throughout the day.

Building communication, confidence, and problem-solving for smoother interactions with peers.

How We Work
We believe therapy works best when it feels safe, fun, and collaborative. Our sessions blend evidence-based strategies with creativity and flexibility, always centered around your child’s unique strengths and needs.

Our therapists don’t just work with children; we work closely with families, caregivers, and teachers to ensure progress carries over into home, school, and community life. Because no two children are alike, every program is personalized and we adjust and pivot in the moment to meet your child where they are today.

At FCOT, we take a neurodiversity-affirming, strengths-based approach. This means we celebrate differences and help children understand and use their strengths, rather than trying to “fix” who they are.

Our goal is simple: to help children and families find confidence, balance, and joy in everyday life.
FAQs
How do I know if my child could benefit from OT?
If your child struggles with everyday tasks that seem easy for others , like focusing, managing emotions, motor skills, or handling sensory experiences, OT may be helpful. You don’t need a diagnosis or referral to get started.

What does an OT session look like?
Sessions are play-based, engaging, and tailored to your child’s needs. Activities might include obstacle courses, art, movement games, or calming sensory play, all designed to build real-world skills through fun and connection.

Do parents participate in sessions?
Absolutely! Parents are always welcome. We often include family members so strategies can be practiced at home for lasting results.

How is FCOT different?
We believe in meeting every child where they are, emotionally, physically, and developmentally. Our therapists combine expertise with flexibility, creativity, and genuine care, ensuring each child feels supported, not pressured.
